What is floor planning? What do Floorplanners do?
The companies or individuals who allow car dealers to buy inventory with their
money are called
Floorplanners. An auto dealership may have more than one
floorplan arrangement. A
Floorplanner usually has several auto dealers they are working with. A floorplan
can strengthen
an auto dealers
retail lending ability.
How dealer floorplans work....
The dealers buy the vehicles and give the titles to the Floorplanner. The
Floorplanner
holds the title until the vehicle is sold. The dealer sells the
vehicle and pays the
Floorplanner for the unit. Then the title is registered
into the new buyers name. In many cases
interest is charged daily. The rate may be a
flat rate. Sometimes it is a negotiated rate.
The interest may also change depending on how long
the dealer has the vehicle in their inventory.
A floor planner may deal with huge numbers of units and
take on a tremendous investment.
Accuracy is vital for tracking and management.

The FPM was designed for individuals that floor plan dealer inventory purchases.
We
have found that Floor Planners use a similar style but all differ in
operation. The method
we chose to model for this software solution is modestly
sophisticated but, the main
purpose is to allow Floor Planners the luxury of
managing a host of auto dealers and their
purchases with ease.
Now, If you have been in floor planning more than a week - you know that
if your
dealers aren't buying and selling -You are not making any money!
The sheer volume is tough to manage. That's where the Floor
Plan Manager
comes in. The more times you can turn your money - the more money
you can make.
Our Floor Plan Manager supports an unlimited number of dealers on a stand
alone
basis. Flexible wholesale dealer packages are available.
Manages the units purchased
Manages a list of units by dealer account
Manages the money, dates purchased, dates sold, days on your money, dealer
profit
and loss, a dealers history, etc
Our Floor Plan Manager computes interest on a per day basis. The number of
days are
computed and the account is charged interest accordingly.
A flat fee can also be charged in addition to the interest.
The auto dealer is given a credit limit amount. The floor planner can monitor the
status of
the dealers account at any time.
The account can be reconciled on a weekly, monthly or on an at need basis.
A repair allowance can be utilized and recorded on a per unit basis.
Reserves can be charged per unit and held in
accumulated balances.
Prints reports, settlement checks, account summaries and commission
reports.

We have paired the Floorplan Manager (FPM) with our Cars*Plus cash/wholesaler
auto dealer software so that the dealer's data can be imported.
How auto dealer software aids the Floor planner
The dealer will type the data on vehicles he has purchased into his laptop
using
Cars*Plus Wholesale software. The data then can be compiled into an
exportable file.
The data file can be sent as an email or by other media.
You then receive the email with the attached file. The file can be imported into
the
Floor Plan Manager. The FPM will arrange the data on the vehicle and update
the
|dealer's account with the recent purchases.
